Harbourcoat
by REM
Transcribed by Phil Saunders

Thanks to Scott A. Yanoff , who figured out the
chords. My transcription was made easier by his work. There are two
guitars going in parts of the tune; you can regard this transcription as a
distillation of the parts. It may not be exact, but it should be close.
I'm pretty sure the chord shapes are right, but you can play with some of
the picking patterns a little. Remember to tune down a half step to play
with the record.

They crowded up together with their noses worn off
A handshake is worthy it's all that you've got
Metal shoes on wood it pushed her right back
There's a splinter in your eye, it reads react
Interlude
They shifted the statues for harboring ghosts
Redden their necks color their clothes
(or "Red menace color their clothes"???)
Then we danced with the rest but the menance got out
She gathered the corners and called it her gown
Chorus
Please find my harborcoat can't go outside without it
Find my harborcoat can't go outside without it
They crowded up together with their noses worn off
A handshake is worthy it's all that you've got
Metal shoes on wood pushed her right back
There's a splinter in your eye it reads react R-E-A-C-T
{break Em with 12th fret harmonics played fast and
furiously}
Chorus
They've shifted the statues for harboring ghosts
Redden their necks color their clothes
Then we danced with the rest but the menance got out
She gathered the corners and called it her gown
She said...
